John & Barbara

Tiffany & Angie

Jeff & Scooter

We are the Paschall's, John (Scooter) and Barbara. We are located at 404 State Street in the small town of Hazel, Kentucky located south of Murray, Kentucky on the Tennessee State line. In 1999 we started our display with 2500 lights, and in the past 9 years that total has grow  to over 60,000 lights.

After visiting other displays around the town and viewing all the computerized on line we decided we would try our hand at it.

In 2004 we started collecting wire frames, spiral trees, deer, polar bears, moose, extra Christmas trees and other odd and end Christmas decorations to make our display unique. Our first year we purchased two controllers, a monster brain and 12 pre-programmed songs from "Animated Lighting".  The following year we added five more controllers, Animation Director software and a FM transmitter to broadcast our music. And then "Magical Christmas" was born .

The main purpose of our display is to honor and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because HE is the reason for the season.

In March we plan the design, music is selected and then Scooter starts the tedious tasks of programming for the new year.  With lots of hours in front of the computer and late nights by September we are ready to get started with building new creations. The first Saturday in November we have recruited the children and grandchildren to help pull out all the lights that are in storage and start the testing and repairing process.  And then our layout is planned for both the static and computerized sections of the yard. Scooter is in charge of the computerized part and Barbara takes charge of the static side.

The computerized display in 2007 included a 10 foot animated tree with  5775 lights. (Hopefully in 2008 3600 LEDS), strobes, leaping arches, dancing Santa and Elvis entered the display ( which to our amazement was a big hit). We also had rope light arches, 3 dimensional trees and deer, candy canes, carolers, angels, nativity scene and lots more . Visitors could park across the road in an empty parking lot and tune their radios to 101.5FM and watch as the lights perform to the music.  The static side consisted of Santa and his workshop, sleigh and reindeer, elves, moose, numerous deer, polar bears, elephant and lots and lots of decorated trees and lawn lights.

As visitors arrive they are greeted by the Paschall's nightly. Candy canes are handed out and all are welcomed to "Magical Christmas". And on certain nights the big man himself, Santa , makes visits. This year he will be bringing Mrs. Claus with him.

2007 is also the year we started our relationship with "Need Line" of Murray, Kentucky. "Need Line" is a non profit organization that helps 650 - 700 families each month.

2009 we are starting a new partnership with The Leukemia Foundation, along with our daughter our goal is to raise awareness along with monetary donations to help in finding a cure for this devasting disease. Our prayer is that one day that we can all "Believe in the Magic" of finding a cure for all forms of cancer.
